November 4, 2001 Firefighters from the LADDER 93 prepare to enter the Schuylkill County Training Center. The crew participated in live structural burn sessions offered in conjunction with the Green wood Hose Co. (Lackawanna County -Station 98). The program trained firefighters in fire scene operations with an emphasis on residential and commercial fires. Each firefighter was exposed to live fire situations. |

Firefighters from the Ladder 93 use the "jaws of life" to free a trapped occupant of a compact vehicle. The crash, which occurred on Keyser Avenue, held the victim captive for more than 20 minutes. Once being freed the patient was transported by the Old Forge EMS along with Paramedics from Lackawanna Ambulance to the Regional Trauma Center in Scranton. Firefighters from Ladder 93 leave the roof of a commercial structure in Clarks Summit. Fire crews were summoned as reports indicate a HVAC unit malfunctioned on a rooftop. Ladder 93 responds in assist to Lackawanna County Station 27, Throop, with a reported structure fire. Upon all units arrival the fire had been extinguished when the property owner cut power to an exterior light which sustained a ballast failure. The fire was contained to the fixture. The structure was then checked with thermal imaging cameras from Rescue 27 and Engine 234 (Dickson City). Ventilation was conducted by the 27 Engine. Photo Courtesy Robert Hegedus

Respiratory Protection Training
Firefighters from Ladder 93, Engines 93,933, 953 and Rescue 98 participate in a respiratory protection training program. The program teaches firefighters proper use, maintenance and limitations of SCBA.
