Captain Semenza has been serving the Old Forge Fire Department since 1980 when he joined he Old Forge Hose & Engine Company as a junior firefighter. After serving several years as a senior firefighter he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. At that time he served on both an engine and ladder. In 1992 his company was permanently assigned truck company duties and he was promoted to captain of the ladder company. He has remained in this position since.

 Captain Semenza is a state certified fire instructor. He is employed by the PA State Fire Academy as an adjunct instructor and spends a large amount of time teaching the resident programs at the academy in Lewistown. He also teaches local level classes for both Bucks County Community College and Harrisburg Area Community College.

 Captain Semenza is employed full time with the Old Forge Police Department. He holds the rank of sergeant and is currently assigned to the Lackawanna County SWAT Team.
